The Green Bone Saga by Fonda Lee

Tell me, what were those books you read this year that carried your soul away?

Until the final book of this trilogy was released I didn’t want to pass judgment on it. And boy, am I glad I waited. I don’t think I was fully prepared for just how great the conclusion was going to be

I mean, I thought the first two books were great but what this final book managed to accomplish completely blew me away πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½. Not only was it able to satisfactorily clear up, pay off and conclude on a lot of loose threads it had carefully built up in the first two books, it surpassed the first two in terms of pure enjoyability for me as well

I definitely think all three books are worth a read, but the final book titled Jade Legacy is the real clincher for me.

Nevertheless, I must admit it was quite a risky and ambitious gambit on the part of the author. I mean, only three books to pull off a saga? Would it not feel too rushed and undercooked? Could it even end well at all?

Well, somehow the final installment managed to clear all my skepticism and I can firmly say: it is definitely one of the best novels and series I’ve read all year.

The Green Bone Saga is the detailed and intricate story of the No Peak clan as they dangerously and fatally compete against their sworn enemy the mountain clan, in the fantastic city of Janloon, the Jade City.
