Another thing I enjoyed was discovering the origin of the name Nameless Republic. I chuckled and gave Suyi an invisible high-five. Àgbà Ìwé!

I have waited a long time for Warrior of the Wind.
From my first dip into that world, I was hooked and looked forward to Warrior of the Wind. To ensure I was in the right state of mind for Warrior of the Wind, I re-read Son of the Storm, but there was no need as a summary had been provided. So you might not need to read it like I did.
However, I hesitated before reading it. Would it be as excellent as Son of the Storm? Would Suyi have lost his mojo? Would the quality tank? I have encountered many sequels that did nothing for the original story and wished I never picked them up.
I can proudly tell you that the author didn’t lose his mojo! While we might not be in the hinterlands as much, a whole new world has been opened up, and boy, what a world it is!
The lengths Esheme went to just to retain power were insane, I knew she was ambitious, but ọmọ, this was next level. By the way, there is a new villain in town or rather villains, and they are giving Esheme a run for her money. At one point, I laughed my head off when I realised the plans in store for her. In a way, I pitied her, but anything gotten by force must be kept with force.
Danso disappointed me. He isn’t acting like the average hero that I thought he would be, but I guess that is the charm of Warrior of the Wind. It doesn’t follow a certain path. Wait until you meet the beasts. I have a favourite, one that has to do with bones. It is the ones you were not expecting that you should be scared of the most.
The story would have gone left if the prison’s chief warden had gotten his way! Thankfully, he didn’t. Another thing I enjoyed was discovering the origin of the name Nameless Republic. I chuckled and gave Suyi an invisible high-five. Àgbà Ìwé!
The decision made by Liong’s dad got me into a twist. It’s just dramatic irony. You suspect it would happen, but you did it anyway. The pros are there, but I mean…The future would tell.
There were some elements Suyi added that I personally do not like, and I believe if they had not been added, the story would have still gone on beautifully, e.g. the throuple. The guy would have fit in as the best friend, and it would have been just as good. All in all, Warrior of the Wind was an excellent book.
I only have one question for the author ‘Suyi, when are you releasing book three?’
PS- The book cover artist also deserves massive credit, as she embodied the images in our minds. Keep churning out excellent covers. We await the next one.
