The Gift Of A Legacy (The Ultimate Gift #4) by Jim Stovall

Estimated read time 3 min read

When you come across a book like this, what comes to mind? As for me, I imagined it to be one of those motivational books. However, it turned out to be a fictional story. The title of this book caught my attention because of its uniqueness.

Synopsis

The story is based on the legacy of Sally May Anderson, who owns a bed-and-breakfast business and had it running for a long time. Sally May Anderson is a woman loved by all and sundry and brings warmth everywhere she goes and lights up the room. Even after losing her husband, she remains lovely to everyone. In all, she has a beautiful soul.

Picture of the book

However, she has great concern about her great-grandson Joey. Sally, already advanced in age and approaching death, knows she has to help Joey become a better person before handing over his inheritance to him. With the help of her close friend and lawyer, Theodore J. Hamilton, Esquire of Hamilton, Hamilton, and Hamilton, Attorneys-at-Law, she writes down her will and how she wants it executed.

The contents of her will include some legacy Joey has to learn, induced by his great-grandma’s friend, Red Stevens. Red Stevens once had a similar situation as Sally dealing with his badly-behaved son Jason, who eventually had to learn the legacy his father had set for him as a condition to gain his inheritance.

This same method is what Sally adopts for Joey, and at first, it seems impossible for Joey to adapt to the new change and learn the moral values. Still, with the help of his great-grandma’s lawyer and her friends, Joey learns about these laid-down legacies and values that help him become a better person.

Thoughts

I was pleased with how Joey’s life took a new turn, as all the legacies of his great-grandma shaped his life. These legacies also stood out to me. They were like life lessons and hacks to live a great and fulfilled life. Not only did Joey have a new perspective on life, but I also did.

The Gift of a Legacy touched my soul, taught me lessons, and made me realize where I lagged morally. This book was beautifully written, hard to put down and brings lots of warmth. There were times I was moved to tears and other times I laughed out loud. The story makes you feel like wrapping it around you and never letting go.

Books like this are what we need to have us reflect on our lives and also adjust wherever we may be lagging. I will re-read The Gift of a Legacy because reading it once isn’t enough. It has to be read over and over again. The Gift of a Legacy is golden, unique, and divine, and I highly recommend it. Please do well to read it! Thank you!
