Our list rounds up the top 30 cartoon characters that were villains, each one more wonderfully wicked than the last.
When V.E. Schwab said Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil was about Toxic Lesbian Vampires, she meant it! Cause I got that and then some!

Omg! V.E. Schwab! What an amazing writer! Her command of grammar is excellent! I had to pause after chapter 1 to be amazed at her writing.
This is what I’ve been missing in my life? Immediately, YES! This book could have zero plot, and I’d give the book five stars just based on that alone!
Bury my bones in the midnight soil, plant them shallow and water them deep, and in my place will grow a feral rose, soft red petals hiding sharp white teeth.
Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil keeps some common vampire lore and adds some fresh, innovative, and new spin to it. Absolutely unique!
V.E Schwab crafts her characters brilliantly! I fell in love with all the main characters (three in total, all women), and there wasn’t a POV (also, three) I wasn’t interested in. The secondary characters were equally compelling, and I loved meeting all of them.
This book was a beautiful journey, sometimes sad, sometimes maddening, sometimes joyous, but 100% freeing. The plot was well-structured and exhilarating. I had so much fun trying to connect the three women from the different timelines, and when everything came together, it was glorious.
When V.E. Schwab said Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil was about Toxic Lesbian Vampires, she meant it! Cause I got that and then some! The ending was sad, and I was gobsmacked!
Ms. Schwab, I bow to your genius! Simply magnificent! My only con was that Charlotte’s (one of the MCs) chapters went on for too long towards the end. And I got almost bored. Aside from that, Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil is a 10/10 book! No notes!
WHO SHOULD READ THIS? Everybody! But especially if you love women, vampires, historical fiction, love, wlw, or V.E Schwab, you have to pick up this masterpiece!
