Truly, truly enjoyable, this book was.

Honestly, I was not eager to start this one, seeing as it’s not yet a complete series. But it was a big-name author. Besides, the books I’ve been reading recently have not precisely been intriguing, so I just decided to give this one a try. And I certainly wasn’t disappointed.

Abercrombie revisits the world of the First Law and delivers true quality with aplomb. There are a surprisingly large number of POVs, with the excellent writing style ensuring the smooth progression of the plot without too much confusion. The character development is as amazing as they ever come in Epic Fantasy. Excellent, beautiful characters who I wouldn’t be surprised already have a promising, large fandom.

There are a lot of loose ends at the end, not necessarily one single huge cliffhanger. The thrill is certainly no less for this reason.

Now we have to wait for the next book….
