I feel tears coming on… (blinks away mental tears). There! No tears for me. But many for you, for sure.

I’m thinking of how to properly write this review without including any spoilers…

The story is one of love, of hope, of betrayal in most unimaginable ways. It tells of strength, of choice, disappointment. The author tells a story of a couple plagued by devastating, real problems. Ones we can relate with. Ones so starkly real and grim that readers are bound to shed a tear or two out of pity. The story is touching because it’s so original. It’s fiction from the deepest hells of reality, that’s what it is. It’s all set against a backdrop of Nigeria’s military era. The realities of the day coupled with the sad intrigues of the story’s themes make certain that this book will be one not forgotten in a hurry by readers.

Highly recommended.
