There are questions of loyalty, questions of allegiance to family or nations, and tough choices brought about by tough circumstances. Spellslinger features two incredible characters: The lead character who is intriguingly unpredictable, capable of inspiring both frustration and intense favoritism in equal measure, and a defiant character whose ideology is to face life's obstacles and curveballs head-on with little dread and an almost reckless determination.
De Castell's trademark masterful plot twists pervade this brilliant read. A brilliant start to a brave, brave tale.
